It's record time...

The time has come…
…for the U of A to take back the record. The dodgeball record, that is: this Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, the U of A will attempt to reclaim its rightful title to the World's Largest Dodgeball Game.
Once again, the Students’ Union is leading the way in organizing the attempt, and by any measure it is an audacious goal worthy of our support. The game is open to all

U of A students, staff and alumni; I can tell you from first hand experience (twice!) that it’s great fun.
I encourage everyone to get involved and participate if you can. Or come out and cheer on the Green and Gold teams.
It has been great to see so many staff and alumni come out to support this student-led event for the last two years. Registration opens at 10 a.m., and the game gets underway at noon in the Butterdome. For more information, you can go to www.breaktherecord.ca or check out the Facebook page the SU has created.

Thank you,
Carl Amrhein
Provost and Vice-President (Academic)

  1. I keep hearing about it. I've probably been asked 4 times today if I'm going, been advertised to in multiple classes, by signs across campus, giant letters in QUAD, even facebook invites, only to be stuck writing a midterm at the same time! Good luck UofA, I'll try not to think of you as I write my midterm.

  2. Not to be a wet blanket, but as we prepare to fire staff in the Faculty of Arts due to a budget shortfall, I'm wondering about the cost of mounting this giant ball throwing event. Is anyone keeping track of cash and in kind costs, and might the figures be shared here? Thank you.
